Antonio Aracre: “From Together for Change they try to destabilize the economy, but also politics”

antonio aracre consider that the first semester will be difficult in economic terms, however, he is optimistic.” When all the political power stands behind an objective such as lowering the inflationthe chances that they are very high,” he said in Fontevecchia modeby net tv and RadioProfile (FM 101.9).

A while ago you argued that you wanted to be part of politics, why did you specifically choose the ruling party?

In December, the President will determine this role for me, which is something fantastic. And that perhaps, without the experience of public management, you can address different problems across the board.

He wanted to create a platform that facilitated investments and contact with the business world. From there we will be developing this function as best as possible.

You were very critical of the video that was released of the explosion of the economic bomb that Together for Change put in their statement. Why do you think that talking about “explosion” or “bomb” can contribute to generating greater difficulties?

It’s irresponsible because it is not a small party but it is the main opposition party and it has a real chance of coming to power. This generates a very strong negative expectation on the part of the economic operators who have these instruments in their possession.

Secondly, it is stupid to make such a criticism if it did not have the technical foundations, and even less so when the way they governed was with an erratic monetary policy that led us to end the IMF. and with his own hernan lacunza reprofiled the debt in pesos.

In any case, when you look at the debt ratios in dollars or in pesos in relation to GDP, the data is very positive compared to 2018, in managing them.

The Together for Change model has 5 million Argentines left over. They need to devalue, impoverish and remove 3 points of deficit from the budget, but not gradually but with a shock policyand since it does not have popular support, they ask the market to do so.

A text by Naomi Klein stated that chaos was necessary to later be able to implement some kind of measures that would not be accepted without it…

There is a JxC sector that thinks that the worse we are, the better. If there is chaos, an almost self-imposed social permit is generated by the population that gives an almost authoritarian government the freedom to establish order. Try to destabilize the economy but also politics.

Inflation versus purchasing power

You had predicted an improvement in purchasing power for this first semester, with this inflation that is surely higher than what was forecast, will you continue to maintain the same expectations?

There is a goal that, in the second quarter of the year, inflation is closer to 4% than 6% per month. And when all the political power stands behind an objective like this, the chances are very high.

Inflation: the January data could generate a new rate hike

It is true that there are problems, such as the drought or the price of meat. But when inflation stability closer to 4% is achieved, those parities that are going to hit 100% annual salaries in the first semester will allow us to perceive that improvement in purchasing power that last year was not felt in people’s pocket.

In this sense, are you worried about seeing inflation in January with a figure higher than 7% in the City, for example?

The first trimester is going to be difficult.. January and February have the issue of seasonality in fresh produce and the price of meat, although the Government is working to mitigate this as much as possible. March is a complex month, because things settle down, classes start, among other things.

Fair Prices is having the results we expected, considering that meat and fresh produce are not included there.

The intertwining of the private sector with the public

How do you take the criticism from the most conservative sectors of the Government for the arrival of a CEO to state functions, when that word was more associated with public officials promoted by macrismo? Even Pablo Moyano described you as a “character”…

I take them well, let them say what they want, there is freedom of expression. On the other hand, Appointing me was a courageous decision on the President’s part.

It is obvious that having been CEO for so many years can generate some rejection or suspicion. I hope that my work and my independence of criteria convince those sectors that I am here for something else.

What is your vision regarding who should be the candidate that represents the Frente de Todos in the next elections?

The President convened a political table where all sectors of the Frente de Todos, which is very diverse, will be represented. Yet unites them all want a fairer and more inclusive Argentina. At that table they will generate those agreements and programmatic consensus that they will give consistency to the space to define who is the best candidate that can represent them.

And who would be your preference?

I particularly have great affection for Alberto Fernández, I want Argentina to take a path of production and development. I do not want an Argentina for few.

Is there a possibility that the “libertarians” or their voters find some point of contact with the ideas of the Frente de Todos??

I’m not a specialist on that subject, but I am a person who talks to people who think in different ways. In fact, I have found many points in common with Carlos Maslatón in how he thinks of Argentina, and he is supposedly a libertarian.

The limits of the ideological are being erased, it is seen a lot in the new generations. Perhaps the question is not what but to find an innovative format to capture the attention of the kids.

The political table of the Frente de Todos confirmed the date, but not the presence of Cristina Kirchner

Could you take stock of how your mind changed before, when you were in the private sector, to today that you are in the public sector?

It is a bit early to analyze, but there are problems and difficulties in both worlds, so we must Develop the tools to overcome them.

Do you miss the private world?

No, because I am meeting people and even new problems. That makes my head rearrange.

What do your colleagues and employers tell you?

Some encourage me and others tell me I’m crazy, there’s everything.
