“I am seriously analyzing being a candidate for president, we already have closed agreements with other groups. Uniting all of us, we will promote much more. By dividing we harm the institution,” Chilavert said in radio statements.
Then he added: “My idea is to unite all of Vélez, except for the La Cámpora movement led by Augusto Costa. We will see what happens with the people of Amalfitani and the movement led by Raúl Gámez. It is a question of being able to talk. We cannot allow the politics that have been so destructive in Argentina to be incorporated into a model institution such as Vélez“, closed.
In early May of this year, Chilavert participated in the presidential elections in Paraguay, but did not obtain good results. The former soccer player was a candidate for the Youth Party and ranked seventh in votes, with 24,284 votes out of a total of more than 3 million, for which he only achieved 0.80 percent.
Chilaver’s bad history in Vélez’s politics
