The bridge holiday of this Friday, May 26, was added to the celebration for the Revolution Day of May 25, and thus an extra-long weekend was formed that allows many Argentines to plan a short trip in the country or in the outside.
According to a study carried out by the site booking.com, tourist destinations in the province of Córdoba were left out of the top five of the most chosen places in the country for a getaway for the next few days.
Buenos Aires, Salta, Mar del Plata, Puerto Iguazú and Mendoza lead the ranking of cities that Argentines chose to travel in these four days of XXL weekend.
Another survey carried out by Take off indicated that Ushuaia and El Calafate make up the top five along with Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata and Mendoza. There were also inquiries for comparatively less typical places with similar dates such as San Rafael, Merlo, Puerto Madryn, Iguazú, Salta and Posadas. Neither did any tourist destination in Córdoba appear in this study.
“The ranking is headed by Bariloche, with 204% growth compared to last weekend, and is followed by Mar del Plata with +382%. We are proud that Argentines continue to invest in traveling,” said Paula Cristi, Country Manager of Despegar for Argentina and Uruguay, on the news site mdz.
