The price of the dollar in Colombia was reached to negotiate again above 5,000 pesos this Thursday. The maximum operating rate of the fourth exchange day of the week it stood at 5,015 pesos at about 10:30 in the morning, to then begin a gradual decline to 4,961.5 pesos, the last price of the US currency of the day.

So far this year, the dollar has become more expensive by more than 113 pesos, placing the official exchange rate at 4,924 pesos. However, it is expected that by tomorrow, Friday, it will be around 4,900 pesos, below the first maximum price registered at the beginning of 2023.

On average, the dollar traded this Thursday at 4,989.62 pesos, according to the records of the Electronic Trading System (SET-FX) of the Colombian Stock Exchange (BVC).
Despite the variations in the exchange rate observed in the first days of the beginning of the new year, the price of the US currency is still 161.21 pesos away from the historical maximum of the exchange market registered on November 11, 2021.
