For an economist, Fair Prices fails because “it attacks the consequence of inflation and not the cause”

the economy minister Sergio Massa presented today the new stage of the Fair Prices programin which the products that are part of it will have a pattern of monthly increases of 3.2%.

“In terms of results, these programs do not have a lasting effect on inflation”assured Miazzo, who later completed: “These programs fail because they attack the consequence of the inflationary problem and not the causes”.

Along the same lines, the economist explained: “In world history it has never been possible to generate a lasting effect against inflation with these programs”. “Companies cannot sustain these types of price levels in the future, is to postpone the treatment of the problem“, complete.

“These programs are only in the big supermarket chains and the people who have less do not have access to these programs”, said the economist. “Many of the local markets depend on a distributor and have a broader cost chain”, he concluded.
