Gianluca: they suspect that his parents could illegally take him out of the country to Brazil

This Friday we reported the disappearance in Córdoba of an 8-year-old boy, Gianluca Maschio Zapata, that he is intensely searched for after his parents removed him from his grandfather’s house, who is the family member who has custody due to an issue of violence that precisely involved the boy’s parents. The point is that the hypothesis of the researchers who are trying to reconstruct the steps of the couple with the baby pointed out this Friday “somewhere in the province of Buenos Aires”, but this idea turned this Saturday to another even more worrying one, and it is the possibility that the baby has been illegally removed from the country. A possible trip to Brazil is mentioned at that point.

According to information from judicial sources cited by the Argentine News Agency, the hypothesis of a possible escape to Brazil would be supported by the testimony of a truck driver, who declared that he had taken the couple and the child to the province of Entre Ríos.

The boy’s parents Carolina del Valle Zapata and Gustavo Maschiothey would have gotten off in that coastal province and the trucker did not suspect at that moment that they could be fleeing Córdoba, but later upon seeing the news the carrier provided that information to the investigators, that based on the testimony the couple could be planning to leave the country in illegally bound for Brazil, perhaps via Uruguay, or perhaps across the border of the neighboring province of Corrientes.

The Córdoba Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) requested that any information be forwarded to the Bell Ville Judicial Unit, at telephone number 03537 450000 (extension 52801), or to the intervening Investigation Prosecutor’s Office 03537 450000 (extension 52052).

The truth is that nothing is known about the minor, while the uncertainty of his grandfather and other relatives in Monte Maíz, the Cordovan city where he lived, grows.

The Bell Ville Fair Instruction Prosecutor requested the collaboration of the population to achieve the capture of Zapata and Maschio.

As distinguished, the mother and father did not take care of the child due to a previous cause of violence, so he met his grandfather. In one of the visits ordered to advance in the family reintegration, this last week, was the occasion in which the couple took the boy and since then nothing has been known about it.

The Córdoba Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) requested that any information be forwarded to the Bell Ville Judicial Unit, by phone 03537 450000 (extension 52801), or to the intervening Investigation Prosecutor’s Office 03537 450000 (extension 52052). Information will also be received at any police station.

The child was last seen at the YPF service station in Monte Maíz, around 11 a.m. on January 22. He was dressed in a pink bermuda shorts, gray shoes without laces, a white shirt with a black inscription and wore a blue backpack with the inscriptions and shield of the Club Deportivo Argentino.
