In the IT sector, they estimate that the average salary for the first quarter will reach $515,000

By July 2023, companies in the technology industry projected -in March- that la median salary for the IT item will reach $515,000, which represents a 48% increase in the first half of this yeara value similar to the inflationary expectations of the market for that month (45%, BCRA).

As of January 2023, the median salary of people dedicated to the technology sector, known as the IT sector, was $347,000, a figure that doubles the value of the Total Basic Basket for a household of 5 members in the GBA (INDEC), as well as wages in the private sector in general (CEP XXI).

Software sector with offshore competition

The data corresponds to the Chamber of the Argentine Software Industry (CESSI), through the Permanent Observatory of the Software Industry and Computer Services (OPSSI), published its most recent salary and employment report in which 231 small, medium and large companies participated, reporting salaries for 23,500 employees from all over the country.

Another fact that emerges from the report is that in the last two years IT salaries have been above the dollar (90% more than the official dollar and 50% more than the CCL dollar) and inflation (10% above the C.I.P.).

According to OPSSI data, in the last two years, employment grew by 21.5%, with 25,000 new collaborators, and reached a total number of 142,000 jobs.

As indicated, that growth represents 150% more than the private sector in general, which grew by 8.4%.
