The complaint about the maneuver, by the agency in charge of Guillermo Michel, maintains that the merchandise left China declared at US$555,920, but the Argentine laboratory declared the import at US$5,040,000 and the overbilling of US$4.5 Millions remained in a bank in Panama.
The fine that could be applied is estimated at US$22.6 million. The judicial presentation began from the analysis of five import operations of machines carried out by an important Argentine laboratory. After analyzing the evidence, the Economic Criminal Justice secured all the analyzes in two buildings, in which documentation that substantiates the case was seized.
The operations in question were declared in Argentina for US$ 5,040,000. However, in China, machinery exports registered a value of just US$ 555,920, which revealed an over-invoicing of US$ 4,484,080, 907%, said Customs.
“What had attracted attention was the re-invoicing of the merchandise through a company from Panama, taking into account that the merchandise was sent directly from China to Argentina,” they explained.
