José Pekerman decided to put an end to his coaching stage in the Venezuelan National Team. The Argentine was thinking of doing a long-term project but since the Venezuelan Football Federation They did not comply with several requests from the technician. They have not yet confirmed the main reason but several fights are already rumored between the FVF and José’s technical team.
José’s idea was to create something similar to his work in Colombia, where he is still well remembered and they are already dreaming of his return, which is why he asked for improvements in the training prizes and to create a youth championship (Projection Tournament) for powers to the promising Venezuelan soccer players. In addition, there is talk of a debt with the entire coaching staff that Pekerman decided to carry out for the project: Ferdinand bocce Batista, Patricio Camps and Fabricio Coloccini for the Juveniles, where he reached the final hexagonal of the South American Sub 20 disputed in the coffee country.
There are several reasons why the 73-year-old from Entre Ríos made the decision: the lack of collaboration from the FVF, debts with the staff, lack of payments to third parties to carry out various activities such as trips, friendlies, specialists in different areas and problems with the management of the coaching staff’s visa.
Another of the strong points is an inmate between the FVF and the right hand and representative of Pekerman, Pascual Lezcano. According to the Venezuelan press it will cover administrative irregularities; lack of ethics and transparency. That is why they asked for the departure of Lezcano and hence the anger of the coach to leave.
Pekerman’s stage in Venezuela
In the red wine, Pekerman led 10 games in which he accumulated five wins, one draw and four falls. But the main idea was to form a competitive squad to dream of qualifying for the United States, Mexico and Canada 2026 World Cup.
