While all eyes converge on the potential and threats of new artificial intelligence developments, Meta -Facebook’s mother company- insists that the metaverse, that virtual space in which we become avatars that interact with each other, is the true future of the web
This was made known by its head of global affairs, Nick Clegg, during a press conference that he gave from London to a group of journalists in Washington, using one of the company’s platforms.
The attendees, who had been lent virtual reality headsets to communicate, “looked like torsos sitting around a big wooden table, but only Clegg’s avatar really looked like him,” Bloomberg described with some mischief.
