RadioProfile | Guillermo Cóppola: “Maradona replaced San Genaro as patron saint of Naples”

Napoli became Italian champion and Radio Perfil spoke with Guillermo Cóppola, who suffered for six years in the city and accompanied Diego Armando Maradona in the club’s first historic titles.

“The emotion is very great. It comforts them, it makes them happy, it makes them live again that emotion that they experienced when Diego was in Napoli ”assured Guillermo Cóppola about the Neapolitan coronation.

The businessman placed special emphasis on what Maradona means for the city, when asked about the constant tributes from the club: “I lived in the city for six intense years alongside Diego, who became the patron saint of the Neapolitans. Maradona changed the feelings of those people, replaced San Genaro as patron of the city.

“Maradona won five titles with Napoli, two Scudettos and one international. The idolatry that Naples has for Diego is no coincidence. Diego was able to match and surpass the power of the north, and people do not forget that. What do I remember? I remember that”assured Coppola.
