What is your relationship with money?

Money is an integral part of our life. Although we would like to think that we can live without it, most of us consider its presence in our lives so essential.

Money is energy so abundant that it is impossible to run out, and our beliefs about money, whether positive or negative, have a much greater influence on our prosperity than we would like to believe. As energy, money flows like water. Most people block pathways for water to reach us and blindly believe that the steady flow of our monthly paycheck is all we have access to.

We form our beliefs throughout life, but it is possible to change them and revitalize the flow of money energy in our lives. This requires a true awareness of how money affects our emotions, not just our budget.

To know what to change, it is necessary to know what kind of relationship we have with money.

Let’s take a look at the three most basic fundamental relationships we can have with our money:

enemy

Does money and things you have to pay for feel like a battle? Does it feel like something you’re struggling with? Have you ever been hurt by money or by people who have more money than you?

Some people through their actions show that they are stuck in this type of relationship. If money feels like an enemy, you’re probably not doing a job you really love.

Being in a stagnant relationship with money feeds you the illusion that there are no other options, and it’s safer to stay where you are than to take dangerous risks to inspire change. You fear that you don’t have enough money to survive, and you may consider those who do as enemies and selfish.

Teacher

Someone in a master relationship with money will use money as a tool to get what they want. He may believe that he can use the money to pay someone to solve problems or that other people will do whatever they want or just work for them for the money.

Both an enemy and a master of money have similar emotional fears about what will happen if the money disappears.

friend

It means that you have an equal and neutral relationship of mutual support and positive energy, you are not dependent on or inflexibly clinging to the money that flows (or does not flow) in and out of your life.

He trusts that there will always be a strong cycle and circulation of money coming to him, so he will never be afraid of running out of money.

Receive it into your life (whether through a paycheck, gift, or source of income) with gratitude, joy, and appreciation. You say goodbye (when paying bills, at a cash register, or gifting opportunities to others) with equal gratitude, joy, and appreciation.

Reflect on this important relationship, and begin to review what you can improve in yourself to have a better relationship with money.
