Royón bet on provincial works and dollars

While the Government advances on the delicate situation of the electric companies where, as PROFILE announced, there will be imminent changes; It also shows initiatives aimed at the energy and oil sector in general, a source of foreign currency income at times when they are not abundant. This week, the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royón, became the protagonist of several key inaugurations.

A project was inaugurated in Vaca Muerta and in Bariloche, Argentina has a series of resources to sustain a stable economy. In the week where there were incidents in Villa Lugano due to the lack of electricity and water, in Neuquén and Río Negro the works of the Sierras Blancas and Alipiba II oil pipelines were completed, which would increase the evacuation of crude oil from the formation by 125,000 barrels per day, and improve the electrical system.

The recent opening of the Sierras Blancas-Allen pipeline was attended by the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royón, the president of Shell Argentina, Chile and Uruguay Pablo Rodríguez, the governor of Río Negro Arabelas Carreras, the governor of Neuquén Omar Gutiérrez , and the Director General of PAE, Marcos Bulgheroni. Several points were left floating in the air.

First of all, an investment of one hundred million dollars was made, the first financed by private capital in the midstream area in the basin. With this work, all the active operators in Vaca Muerta will be able to transport their production to the Oldelval pipeline network, facilitating the expansion of the scale of unconventional crude oil extraction projects. The 105 kilometers of pipe are 16 inches in diameter and are capable of transporting some 125,000 barrels of oil per day, a figure equivalent to 20,000 m3. Shell was the winner.

Royón said: “It is a very important day for the energy sector. I extend Minister Sergio Massa’s congratulations to Shell, PAE and Pluspetrol, and to Techint, SIMA and the fifty suppliers and contractors who worked to finish the work in the record time of nine months with an investment of one hundred million dollars”, with Regarding the Alipiba II work, he added: “The importance of this type of work lies in the change in the quality of life of the population and in the impact on economic activity. For this reason, with Minister Massa, we accelerated the times to be able to carry it out as soon as possible, and today it is a joy to find so many offers presented and what is valuable is that they worked together with the two provincial governments, with whom we agreed on a long-term view. term, that transcends the administrations and meets the requirements that we ask of an electrical work: expand industrial growth and, in this case, also tourism, in Bariloche and Villa La Angostura, and also save fossil fuels,” Royón said.

The Alpiba II was long awaited by the inhabitants, it complements the supply needs for the localities involved, which until now depends on the original Alipiba and, in the case of Villa La Angostura, means reducing its dependence on local thermal generation.

The points that remained in the air are the challenges for all officials to transfer existing resources to improve the quality of life of Argentines.

Similarly, on January 30 the combined cycle of the Ensenada Barragán Thermal Power Plant was inaugurated, attended by President Alberto Fernández.

The interruptions of the presidents of YPF, Pablo González and Marcelo Mindlin of Pampa Energía described the ability to work together that can be carried out between the public and private sectors. Everyone agreed on something: Argentina has many resources to enjoy a stable economy, but this has not happened for a long time. The Barragán Power Plant was acquired by Pampa and YPF in 2019. It is a key work for the electrical system that aims to make high industrial consumption more efficient.
