Without responses from the Nation, the Province prepares a lawsuit

At the close of this edition, the provincial government had no official confirmation of formal actions or money transfers in response to the summons made on Wednesday the 8th to claim the funds owed to finance the deficit of the Retirement Fund.
It should be remembered that in a letter, Governor Schiaretti addressed the administration of President Alberto Fernández in a new claim for the failure to send funds to assist the provincial Fund. There Schiaretti spoke of “unjustified and repeated breaches” and noted that if the lack of responses persists, Córdoba will be forced to initiate legal action.

Also, he highlighted the non-observance by the national state of the obligations assumed through laws 27,260 and 27,701.

Córdoba demands that the Nation send funds to solve the deficit of the Provincial Fund for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. These amounts, updated and added to the months of January and February 2023 accumulate about $110 billion. To put it in dimension, it represents four times the income that the Córdoba Retirement Fund had in 2022 for contributions and contributions.

When asked by this medium, sources from the provincial executive indicated that there were still no answers to the intimidation.

“Until now we have had no news of any payment. Neither we nor any Province”, they pointed out. And they expanded: “Everything can happen. And preparing a lawsuit takes time, it is not immediate. But if they don’t pay, the next step is the judicial route”.

In a document with background information and numbers that accompanied Schiaretti’s letter, the Province detailed the funds owed and remarked that in recent years the deficit of the local Fund was covered with contributions from the Provincial Treasury. He also specifies that $110 billion is reached as a result of an update calculation on the amounts owed.

Thus, the Schiaretti administration maintains that the debt that Anses maintains with the Córdoba Retirement Fund amounted to $50,347 million at current values.

And remember that in a context of very high inflation like the current one and with three years of delay in payment, Congress ordered the incorporation, in the National Budget Law 2023, of a mechanism for automatic updating of the differences between the deficits determined by each year and the advances actually drawn that year. Applying this rule, the debt that Anses maintains with the Fund, updated as of March 1, 2023, increased a total of $100,335 million.

“To date, ANSES has not made any transfers to any of the provincial savings banks. Not only did he not update the amounts, but he also suspended the sending of funds. This decision implies a violation of the law with destabilizing consequences on the financial sustainability of the Fund”, pointed out the government of Córdoba.
