A woman crashed into a million-dollar sculpture that ended up in pieces at Art Wynwood in Miami

A collector who visited a contemporary art fair in the United States accidentally dropped a small glass sculpture by the renowned artist jeff koonstearing it to shreds

The bright blue sculpture, which was part of the famous series “balloon dog“, was valued at $42,000.

The accident occurred Thursday night during an exclusive tour of the fair Wynwood Art in Miamimaking some collectors think that they worked on some performance.

“I saw the woman who was there, and she was touching (the sculpture), and then she thing fell and broke into a thousand pieces“, recounted a foxnews artist Stephen Gamson.

Another visitor took a video as employees at the show swept up the glass shards.

Benedicte Caluch, an art consultant for Bel-Air Fine Art, which sponsored Koons’ piece, told the The New Herald that the woman had no intention of breaking the piece and that the insurer would cover the damage.

Koons, who was not present, is an American sculptor and painter who draws his inspiration from everyday objects, including balloon animals.
