Novak Djokovic (5th) beat the Russian andrei rublev (6th) and advanced to the semifinals of the Australian Open, where he will play against the American tommy paul (35°).
Djokovic, who is seeking his tenth crown at the Oceanic Open in Melbourne, beat Rublev by 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4 in two hours and three minutes of play. “This is my second best match after the one I played with Alex De Minaur. “I miss playing tennis on the days off between matches, but it’s important to make sure the leg is ready for competition. Let’s give Roger a loud round of applause. I would like to resume a skiing career”, he commented when remembering his first Grand Slam semifinal against the Swiss Roger Federer.
In the remaining semi-final in Melbourne, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (4th) will play against the Russian Karen Khachanov (18°).
