After a tour of Latin America and the United States, Axel returned to the country to present the song “Humano”, a ballad that delves into the most personal side of his life. and that the public will be able to listen live at the Teatro Ópera in Buenos Aires, on April 21 and 22.
“I felt the personal need to put into a song something that I had never written before,” he expressed. axel in dialogue with Music Profile.
Accompanied only by a piano, the theme leads the musician to rediscover the formula that consecrated him in his beginnings, and thus generate a much more intimate climate with the listener. The song is accompanied by a video clip that has more than half a million views, at the time of publishing this note.
“We have the habit of saying ‘hello, how are you? good? Yes, all good”, and in reality, we are not all good, every day. Nobody wants to compromise. “Humano” is a song that, in some way, invites us to recognize that we are beings making a life path that It is a school, where we make mistakes. Today, society is highly conditioned by social networks to show the bright side, always look good. And, precisely, everything else that is not seen is what makes us human. All that shadow, which is not bad because it is a shadow. We all have shadows
It’s that good… We are facing a social context, full of labels and labels and pressure, where certain issues are not put on the table, because it is uncomfortable. People want to be comfortable, there is no time, nowadays everything is fast. And, in reality, if we manage to identify and accept that one can be depressed, that one can feel pain, or weakness, or have a giant monster in front of them that is hurting them, if you talk about it and acknowledge it and put it into words, That will make it start to heal and make it more natural.
And all of that makes us human. We come from a pandemic where many people are suffering from depression. AND people do not allow themselves to be sad or depressed and you have to allow itbecause allowing ourselves that, later we can recognize when we left that state.
Axel has two daughters, Aguéda (12) and Aurelia (10) and two sons, Fermín (7) and Gregorio (2).Therefore, one of his biggest challenges is to know how to balance the life of an artist with the family life.
You learn to live with all that. I was first a recognized artist and I wasn’t a father yet. Later, when I became a father, what is the most beautiful thing in the world, in turn also gives you the greatest fears in the world, because the focus goes there, you don’t want anything to happen to them. And it’s very difficult to deal with all that. But I’ve always had it very well.
I was always very spontaneous, so I was living it with that naturalness, showing what was fair and necessary. Because It is not that I was going to hide my private life or expose it all the time. I now went on vacation and my older daughter sings, plays the ukulele, and I show it as something natural, like a family that is traveling and that enjoys and shares. And if with the knowledge that they took them to school in espadrilles because I live in the middle of the mountain, and then I’m looking for a concert in Spain often Mexico often Argentina often USA, and I live well with both.
In 2016, Axel, along with his wife Delfina and their first two children, decided to build themselves and move to an ecological house in the Traslasierra Valley.province of Cordovaa place away from the vertigo of large udders and in full coexistence with nature.
“When my eldest daughter was almost turning 6 and had to start primary school, we are not sure which school to send her to. It is a huge responsibility. And we really took the time to look at schools around the world, looking for which one we thought was the right one for our daughter. And there was one there Villa of the Roseswhich is El Trigal, with a pedagogy based on anthroposophy, which is a Waldorf pedagogy and we said, we are going to try a year to see what happens and it turned out very well, we have been there for seven years, ”explained the singer-songwriter.
I love Cordoba. In fact, many people believe that I am from Córdoba because before I lived there, I always loved that province. I am happy, in the middle of the mountain, in a house with fruit trees, with a lot of green space, a lot of virgin forest.
Yeah! At home, almost every year it snows. A little, one day, two. And we have 10 degrees below zero, 8 degrees below zero. But it’s drier, so you don’t suffer as much. It’s lovely.
In December, when the song “Humano” came out, it also came with the announcement of a very special date at the Teatro Ópera on April 21. Now, a second presentation was added on April 22.
“The idea is to provoke two concerts that have some difference, for those people who repeat themselves,” Axel said. In addition, the artist explained that the choice of the Opera Theater It is not random, but rather hides a very personal background for him and his career.
“The Opera was the first important theater in Buenos Aires that I played as a professional. The first of October 2004. It was a very special concert for me, because it came from playing on the subway, from rowing it for two coins and suddenly I released the song ‘Amo’, and it left a before and after. The song bursts here and in other countries, and the first place we played in Corrientes Streetfuel Opera Theater”, recounted the musician.
After the pandemic and everything we have experienced, this was like starting over, reinventing yourself, being reborn. What do we do? We had already done everything here, so I said, let’s do the Opera again, let’s go back to the origin, to the essence, to that root. We relive what was that moment. There is a very warm energy, from between the house, from the living room of friends. It is a concert so that we can enjoy with those people who support me throughout my life. It is a concert of friends, family.
