Best of 2022 by Matt Wuerker

As a cartoonist, I do my best to create cartoons that live up to the old adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” That happens. There are moments when everything falls into place: brilliant insight (if I do say so myself), great composition, striking drawing, and ideally a laugh or snort. A lot of the time though, I may not hit that high target and my visual commentary might only be worth hundreds of words, but hey, in baseball, hitting .500 is still really good. So, with that in mind, I’m offering you a gallery of what I think are my best efforts, a selection of my personal 2022 cartoon commentary that I hope is worth a thousand words, but I’ll leave the scoring up to you.
