Colts’ clock management comes under fire in loss to Steelers, draws criticism of Jeff on Saturday

The Indianapolis Colts came under fire for the play and decision-making at the end of their 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.

The Colts had all three timeouts left in less than 2 minutes to play the Steelers. After converting on fourth down, Matt Ryan took a sack on first down. On the next play, he ran for 14 yards and on third down the team decided to try another running play to get the first down, but they didn’t make it. The team only used its first timeout after Taylor’s run.

Ryan then threw an incomplete pass to Parris Campbell, despite contact that could have warranted a penalty.

While the Colts made several mistakes in the game and trailed 16-3 at the half, NFL fans watching the end of the game added to the strangeness of the Colts’ final drive.
