Cristina Kirchner, Mauricio Macri and mom’s fault

The political discussion between Cristina Kirchner and Mauricio Macri moved for a moment to the personal sphere. In a series of tweets, the vice president treated the former president as a liar and recorded a phrase that Macri’s mother told this magazine. “Now it is understood why his mother punished him for lying,” CFK said after refuting a tweet that Macri had written about the Vaca Muerta gas pipeline.

Between them they reproached each other for the time it took to build the gas pipeline. Macri continued with the discussion and after arguing the reasons why more kilometers of that work had not been built, he finished: “And don’t mess with my mother, vice president, who was a good mother.”

Mauricio Macri’s mother gave a report to NOTICIAS in 2019, when he was still president. She revealed that she expected herself to be a rigid mother, that she imposed the discipline inherited from her aristocratic family in her own home. “The President has been raised with a lot of affection and within the teaching possibilities that one could give him, perhaps too severe, because my family was very severe with me. I didn’t have special studies to know how to treat children, so it was really hard, you don’t lie, that’s why I said ‘this boy can’t be President’. It was one of the things that reproached him the most and I have hit him, which I regret, ”she said in that report.

News: Did he hit you for lying?

Blanco Villegas: Yes, because you couldn’t lie.

Macri also felt the rigor of his mother. In an interview with journalist Laura Di Marco for her authorized biography of her, she said: “Highly demanding images come to mind. Mom was a perfectionist.” Another anecdote is from the day Alicia ran him around the pool because she couldn’t pronounce the number 13 in English well. She said that her son was not correctly tongue between his teeth to say “thirteen”. Speech problems were always a constant for Macri. Blanco Villegas did his best, like all mothers.
