River’s “change of era”, now in the post-Marcelo Gallardo era, continues to go from strength to strength, and in its first official commitment to the Professional League the team he now leads Martin Demichelis They beat Central Córdoba 2-0 in Santiago del Estero. Ignacio Fernández opened the scoring after 44 minutes of the first half, while Pablo Solari scored the second after 24 minutes of the complementary part.
From the beginning River took the initiative, willing to impose the specific weight of their individualities. After an approach by Central Córdoba, with a shot by Castelli, River responded with an appearance by Fernández, who crashed the shot against Ledesma’s left post.
In tune, River kept looking, with the rise of the sides and the good game that started from the middle, and in another good combination that Enzo Pérez started for Fernández, but again his shot hit the post. Immediately, the Colombian warned with a header that went close, and finally River was able to break the zero, with a play by Casco, who went up the left side, Solari received in the area and left the ball served to Fernández, who defined with category to open the scoring.
But River was not satisfied and in the second half it maintained its dominance, against a rival that was forced to play on the counterattack but did not worry too much. Thus the chances for River followed one another, first with a shot from Aliendro, which he hit the post again, and then with a high left foot from Herrera.
And before the home team could react, River hit it again: Casco appeared in attack, saw Solari on the left, and he scored the second goal with a shot from an angle. And there the lawsuit was defined. They were 20 minutes ahead, but it already gave the impression that River was not going to miss victory. By presence and hierarchy, in a duel with almost no equivalences.
In that section Luis Rodríguez tried with a weak shot at the hands of Armani, and at the start of that play Borja was about to increase but after picking up a rebound on the goal his shot hit the crossbar. It was an ideal start for River, which did not have too many shocks and took a well-deserved victory at the start of the contest.
