Dibu Martínez’s emotion when winning The Best for best goalkeeper: “Argentine and proud”

Emiliano Martínez was chosen as the best in his position with the distinction that FIFA gave him at The Best awards and his joy still endures.

“Argentine and proud”, was the message that the Aston Villa goalkeeper published along with a photo of himself with the award he received at the gala that took place in Zurich, Switzerland, on his official Twitter account.

Later, he shared a new publication on his social networks, but this time he chose to upload the video that FIFA made for the presentation of the shortlist of nominees and added: “So proud! Thanks again.”

These publications were added to the one that he retweeted from the president of AFA, Claudio “Chiqui” Tapiawho congratulated him on his distinction with a heartfelt message: “Thank you @ emimartinezz1 for defending the goal of our team, and infecting the rest of the team with that winning mentality and incomparable security. On the little fields, in the pastures and in the squares all over the world there are boys and girls playing at being the Cartoon You’re #TheBest, bro.”

Dibu Martínez who did a brilliant job during the World Cup, becoming champion with Argentina, and in the Premier League with Aston Villa, earned him the award from FIFA, in the category of best goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper who emerged in Independiente was very emotional when he received the award and on the verge of tears, he pronounced: “My country is proud to be able to win a World Cup after 36 years. Also for our people who know how emotional it is and even more so the difficult year that we have been going through financially.”

“My family is a big part of this. The people of Aston Villa. The people of the Selection. Scaloni who gave me the opportunity to play in the National Team.
