Fishing on vacation, the ideal proposal for the remainder of this summer

For those of us who like to throw the rod, finding a destination that allows us to combine rest days with other fishing days is the most right for the pocket. Today the numbers are important and we have to calculate every last detail if we go as a family.

In this sense, one of the provinces that offers us the most due to its proximity to Buenos Aires is Entre Ríos. It has a wide range of various destinations that we can divide into two corridors: the Paraná river and the Uruguay, the latter with many towns that have a common axisits hot springs.

Of all of them we chose to visit Colón, so we prepared the basics and left at about 7:00 p.m. traveling the route to the Zárate Brazo Largo bridge, with a single scheduled stop to provide us with eels as an alternative bait for the dorado, something that in the end it didn’t work out but it can never be missing, and we recommend always having it on hand in case the lures don’t work.

By doing this journey Another issue that must be taken into account is the checkpoint to enter the province in Ibicuy, it is very severe and if something is not properly in the vehicle we expose ourselves to a delay, added to a fine that most of sometimes its amount is high. The forecast is also essential, if there is fog, the Gendarmerie closes the bridges and we can be stranded until it clears up. As for eating, the best is in the truckers’ hostels located at kilometer 50 of National Route 14 that are open 24 hours a day with abundant and affordable dishes.

The route is at unbeatable conditionswhat we arrived on time to rest and be ready to leave from the campsite beach, where the most striking thing was the bluish-green transparency of the Uruguay River, which has remained that way for weeks because it is stable and low.

While we were making the course, the environment surprised us with Wonderful viewsdunes dyed by multicolored birds, the most varied shades of green, and the sun playing with the bends of the river for us to keep a thousand photos.

The fishing was moving and making baitcast against the accidents that formed the trunks, branches and sticks on the coast, there lurked the tiger of the rivers attacking imitations of mojarras, and the “bananas” of different colors. In trolling the best results were given, the method is to release the lures looking for rock bottoms dragging them at a medium speed so that they imitate the most natural way of swimming forage fish. We also made attempts in solitary streams in search of tarariras where we only managed small doradillos and pira pitás that reluctantly attacked the lures, perhaps due to the abundance of mojarras.

It is worth mentioning that the best areas to find them are: the exit of the Liebig town, La Calera, and the sectors near Isla Caridad. Finally, the skin species, the so-called varied fishing, offers yellow catfish, patíes, moncholos and the valued surubí.
