Four products were banned by ANMAT and a food alert was launched

This Thursday, the National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) banned the sale and manufacturing throughout the country of four products, including a sunflower oil, an artisanal vinegar, an activated seed snack and a grated vegetable cheese.

The measure was formalized and published in the Official Gazette through the provisions 593/2023 Y 594/2023both under the signature of the owner of the entity, manuel limeres.

In the first place, the elaboration and commercialization of the “Sunflower oil, 100% vegetable oil, Colibrí brandRNE 13015429, RNPA 025-13730955″, which began to be investigated based on “a private claim before the National Food Institute”, after presenting “altered organoleptic characteristics”.

Faced with the claim presented, the Department of Food Hygiene of Mendoza affirmed that the number of the RNPA (National Registry of Food Products) and the RNE (National Registry of Establishments) of said product were non-existent.

“Since it is a product that cannot be reliably and clearly identified as produced, prepared and/or divided in a specific establishment, It cannot be made or marketed in any part of the country.“Resolved the control body.

For his part, both vinegar (“Vegan Live Probiotic Artisan Apple Cider Vinegar”) as the vegetable grated cheese (“Rawmesan grated vegetable cheese”) and the activated seed snack (“Activated seed cracker snack”) belong to the brand IKEY Reverence to Earth.

In this case, the investigation that led to the sanction began based on “a Anonymous complaint in the town of Rosario before the Santa Fe Food Safety Agency (ASSAL)“, reason for which regulatory samples of these products were taken.

The analyzes in question determined that “the signs do not declare records, name or address of the company name”. Consequently, ASSAL had to issue a food alert (N° 12/2022), categorized as class II, to all jurisdictional health authorities in the country and the general population.

In turn, its preparation, possession, fractionation, transport, commercialization and exhibition throughout the country were prohibited and proceeded to the confiscation, denaturalization and final destination of said products.
