Trump’s recent decline has emboldened his potential competitors. Disappointing results for Republicans in the 2022 midterms have sparked an outburst of right-wing interest in electability.

Now, Sununu is trying to define himself not just against Trump, but against many of the right-wing haunts he sees as political underdogs.
