stopshearts is a Netflix Original romantic drama series based on the graphic novel by author Alice Oseman, the executive producer and creator of the series. The story centers on Nick and Charlie, two British primary school boys who develop romantic feelings for each other.
The show was a huge hit for Netflix and one of the highest-rated high school dramas of all time from streaming services. At the beginning of 2023, stopshearts has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes critics rating. The series is also classified #150 on the IMDb Top List. The show garnered numerous award nominations and won 5 at the 2022 Kids & Families Emmy Awards.

A renewal of this magnitude rarely happens, especially a renewal on the order of two seasons.
The display data of stopshearts it also supports the rising popularity of the drama. In the first week, the series was watched for 14,550,000 million hours. The second week saw a massive 65% growth in viewership, reaching 23,940,000 million hours. It featured for an extra week, only seeing a 37% decline in viewing from ours.

Assuming that stopshearts Season 2 will remain faithful to the graphic novel/webcomic, so we can expect to see some of the following;
Nick and Charlie have already dealt with homophobia, notably from Charlie’s closeted, abusive ex-boyfriend Ben and rich kid Harry. With the couple revealing their relationship to the world, the young couple can expect more trials and tribulations.
We can expect the developing relationship between Tao and Elle to be further explored in season 2, along with the relationship between Tara and Darcy.
Graphic novel readers also know that we can expect to see more from Mr. Ajayi, who has been a huge supporter of Charlie, and the possible introduction of Mr. Farouk.

Officially, only a wide window of 2023 has been announced for the release of stopshearts season 2 so far.
Alice Oseman, the creator of stopsheartsthe show’s executive producer, revealed to RadioTimes that it could take up to four seasons to cover the “whole story.”
I haven’t done any detailed planning or anything, but it’s pretty easy to divide books into seasons, so four would be enough I think.
Arguably four seasons is the perfect number of seasons for Netflix to commit to. If the show’s popularity grows or retains its viewership since Season 1, then there’s no reason Alice Oseman’s four-season vision couldn’t be fulfilled.
