One of the three main Spanish-language series that has just been announced will not return for an additional season is In love again.
Debuting on February 14, 2023, in love again is a coming-of-age romantic comedy series from Carlos Montero. Among the protagonists of the series are Georgina Amorós, Franco Masini and Carlos González.
Now, months after its debut, we learn that the show will not be returning for a season 2.

The news of the cancellation came from a Spanish outlet Frames that confirmed with Netflix that three shows had been canceled in total. welcome to eden (one of the most watched international shows of 2023) was the biggest cancellation among the three, which will not return for a third season. Fotogramas did not provide any official reason for the cancellations. However, from others we’ve covered in the past, it often comes down to many reasons, including viewership, completion rates, cost of production, and whether it meets other strategic goals for the platform.
The show only managed to chart one week in Netflix’s global top 10, which is pretty damning given that international series have an easier job of getting into the top 10 and staying there. In total, the show was watched for 16.16 million hours between February 12 and 19, 2023.
The show looked like it could be a winner, given that the show’s two main trailers amassed over 1 million views on YouTube. It has been reported that the performance of the YouTube trailer is often related to its performance on Netflix.
It should be noted that Carlos Montero remains on Netflix with his first big project for Netflix Elitewill soon return for its seventh season in October 2023. He is also serving as a writer on a new drama series called breathing starring Najwa Nimri, Blanca Suárez, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón and Manu Ríos.
