leonel sancho23 year old who has various criminal cases and is being held as the only accused of stabbing Patricio Javier Pacheco to death on Saturday in the central square of the Buenos Aires town of General Pinto, declared before the Justice that he acted to defend his life in a fight that he had with the victim and another person, according to information on Monday, July 10, judicial sources.
Sancho, the only defendant for the crime of Pacheco (22), was investigated and decided to give his version to defend himself before the prosecutor in the case, Pamela Ricci, in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 4 of Junín, after maintaining two meetings with his official advocate.
Judicial sources confirmed to telam that the defendant made a story in which he assured that he defended himself from an attack by Pacheco and another young man: “It was their life or mine“, he maintained in his inquiry.
They killed a young man and there was a “poblada” in General Pinto: the murderer had 39 legal cases and was still free
After the statement, prosecutor Ricci asked the Junín Guarantee Court 2 to convert the arrest into formal detention for Sancho for the crime of “homicide“.
A cousin and a friend of Pacheco, and both witnesses to the event, explained this Monday, in dialogue with Tennessee what was the origin of the fight that culminated in the homicide and the previous problems between both groups.
Damián, the friend, told that It all started “a couple of months ago” when his “cell phone was stolen” in “a bowling alley” and he targeted “Martín Patiño”, a friend of the now detained Leonel Sancho and who, according to him, also participated in the Saturday night fight
“After that, the thing was spicy. we never solved anything“Said Damián, who explained that the night of the event they found Patiño and Sancho at the birthday party they had attended in Germania, a town near General Pinto.
“We went to the birthday party, we crossed them, They provoked us into a fight and we dodged them all night.”said the witness.
The victim’s cousin, Facundo, recounted that after the birthday, when they had already returned to General Pintos and arrived in a van to the main square, they saw that “at the corner, between the two of them, Martín Patiño and Leonel Sancho, were hitting Patrick.
Who is Leonel ‘Lecherita’ Sancho, the young murderer who was free with 39 legal cases
“When we got to the corner, the fight continued. Leonel Sancho ran half a block, came back with the knife and there he ends up stabbing Patricio“Facundo said.
Damián said that he saw when Sancho arrived with the knife and that even in one of his jackets he threw “a slash” at him, but then he stayed fighting with Patiño and Patricio with whom he had the knife and probably ended up killing him.
The cousin of the murdered young man also claimed for the arrest of Patiño, the partner of the current detainee, assuring that “he starts the fight, he provokes her and that they were both the ones who killed him“.
“I hope that justice is done and the police are involved here because It can’t be that a boy with so many causes is on the street“, denounced the friend Damián.
In this regard, Facundo assured that “what happened was that when Sancho entered jail, he betrayed one or the other, and then it was convenient for the police to leave“.
María Elena, the victim’s mother, also opined that “Patricio was not killed by Sancho alone, they killed him between two“.
“I would like the Justice to act and the prosecutor to continue investigating, but as soon as possible. The people are asking for justice and I need the prosecutor to respond quickly before the people make another baton because there are already too many riots in a quiet town, they do not have to set fire. I do not share the violence, but I need Justice to act,” he said when reflecting on the damage caused by the case.
“I want you to start working, representatives, senators, change laws, it cannot be that this policy ends up killing so many innocent people,” added the woman.
The crime occurred last Saturday around 6:30 in the main square of General Pinto, located on General Villegas street, between Miter and San Martín, where, as a result of calls to the 911 reporting a fight, the police found a grave of Pacheco.
In turn, the policemen carried out a search and proceeded to seize a knife that would be the one used in the event. The young man was taken to the hospital in the area in serious condition, where he will finally suffer as a result of the injuries sustained. The assailant had fled.
After that, the troops requested all the urgent analyzes and, in those circumstances, managed to apprehend Sancho, who according to the witnesses and the prosecution, was the perpetrator of the homicide.
Judicial spokesmen indicated to telam that the defendant currently had at least six criminal cases pending, but he justified that he was free because they are all for releaseable crimes: one for aggravated robbery -which was brought to trial-, two for robbery, another for burglary, one for minor injuries and one remaining due to the usurpation of a property in which he resided.
Sancho had also been charged with other crimes when he was a minor.
On Saturday night, several neighbors outraged by what happened went to the suspect’s home, they burned down the house and then they went to a police station, where riotsfor what there was 14 detainees for “attack and resistance by authority, minor injuries and damages”.
Meanwhile, this Sunday the remains of Pacheco were buried in the municipal cemetery, where relatives, friends and relatives of the victim went. His parents remembered him and expressed the pain they felt at the loss of him.
“Due to financial needs, he began working a year or so ago as a butcher, to have his money. All his dreams were ruined, he was a healthy boy,” said María Elena, Patricio Pacheco’s mother in dialogue with Tennessee.
“Here in Pinto we all know each other. It’s bad to live and it’s very difficult for these people to get ahead,” said the woman, recounting that they know the murderer.
After the incidents in various parts of the city, Patricio’s mother expressed: “I don’t want people to take justice into their own hands, I hope that the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police act quickly. They lived doing harm in the town and selling drugs.”
His father also recorded it and with anguish he maintained: “Patricio worked with his brother. The whole town loved him, he had a big heart and he never entered a police station.”
