Julián Álvarez was key in City’s win, which closely follows Arsenal

Julián Álvarez scored a goal and a half in the match that Manchester City escort beat Bournemouth 4-1: in the first, La Araña went almost under the goal after a rebound off the crossbar, and in the next he took a shot from outside the box that deflected off Welsh defender Chris Mepham. The other two goals were concluded by the Norwegian Erling Haaland and the Englishman Phil Foden.

Julián reached six goals in twenty games in the Premier League, which he reached at the start of the current season, and has an average of one shout every 132 minutes.

Now, Manchester City has 55 points and remains close to the leader, Arsenal, who has 57 and yesterday beat Leicester City 1-0. The pointer added three points thanks to the goal scored by the Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli a few seconds into the second half.

In other of the games played yesterday, the Spanish Javi Gracía made his debut as Leeds coach with an important 1-0 victory against Rubén Sellés’ Southampton, in a very important duel for staying in the Premier League.

Another of the duels at the bottom of the table put Everton in the relegation places after a 2-0 defeat at home against Aston Villa. There were more goals at the London Stadium, where West Ham thrashed Nottingham Forest 4-0.
