Lasai 20 GL boat: electric from birth

The Lasai shipyard was born in 2021 and has its headquarters located in the Automotive Intelligence Center, near Bilbao, where the designs of its boats have been developed. For their manufacture they have their own facilities located in Portugal. with a clear commitment to a modern model and environmentally more sustainable, integrate for their propulsion and operation the electric-solar technology. Its boats combine quality with an elegant and avant-garde design. Currently, this shipyard in the north of Spain has two ships for sports use and a model for passenger transport, all photovoltaic solar generation, No noise and no smoke.

deck and cabin

With a elegant exterior design and very fashionable of the most current, brings clean and refined lines, maximum functionality within its 6.80 meters of overall length. Scam well defined zones and practical, the Lasai 20 GL hides the electric motor outside the edge under the cover that configures the solarium. On both sides of the solarium, the side steps allow very easy access to the stern deck. Under the standard hard top, the model showed some practical tools and folding backrests, both in the bow part of the sundeck and in the double seat of the steering position. The foredeck is easily convertible from dinette to solarium. The design and height of the railings stand out, offering safety and comfort at all times. With very simple on-board facilities to avoid holes in the hull, it is very safe and easy to maintain. Each of the models is fully equipped as standard, including the installation of hardtop-mounted solar panels. The list of options allows each model to be configured and customized according to the owners’ preferences, and includes elements such as a natural teak finish, a folding hard top or a bimini with photovoltaic fabric. There is also space to accommodate a refrigerator and aft shower.

Navigation and conclusions

For the Lasai 20 hull design, we started from scratch to achieve greater efficiency. The hull has little V from the middle section towards the stern in order to provide better stability, both in navigation and at anchor. This boat is equipped with a 30 kW outboard motor from the Italian brand Mitek, which together with a bench of 62 kWh batteries and a supply of up to 700 W through the solar panels, is able to achieve autonomy of 25 miles at 13 knots and more than 50 miles at a cruising speed of about 5 knots. At the command post, your navigation program is different from what we have in mind. Changing the paradigm, just boarding and casting off we already see its uniqueness. We set off without making noise, with very good maneuverability and soon we got to a calm and comfortable pace of about five knots. With some waves, its behavior is frank and once at maximum power, although it does not reach planing, its navigation is reliable and safe. Undoubtedly, this new Lasai 20 GL is a new commitment to electric that little by little is adding followers.
