The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo is an upcoming Netflix Original period drama and adaptation of the historical fiction novel of the same name by American author Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Although not initially announced with a director, Leslye Promontory was attached to direct the project on June 29, 2023. Headland served as showrunner on the popular Netflix series Russian doll series and is also behind the Star Wars series, the acolytedue to be released in 2024.

Leslye Promontory will be produced by studio Circle of Confusion. Besides, Liza Chasin is producing through 3dot Productions. Liz Tigellaar is writing the script. Meanwhile, taylor jenkins reid and Daisy Chernin They are executive producers.

Before Netflix acquired the rights to produce the film, Freeform and Fox 21 Television Studios acquired the rights to make the book into a television series. However, in June 2021, Reid announced that the rights no longer belonged to Freeform and that the adaptation would be produced on another platform.

Less than a year later, on March 24, 2022, it was announced that Netflix had acquired the rights to the adaptation.
