Netflix Reportedly Cancels Nancy Meyers’ Romantic Comedy Movie ‘Paris Paramount’

Until recently, Nancy Meyers was working on her next big rom-com for Netflix. However, it has been reported that for budget reasons, Netflix has canceled the project. Here’s everything we know so far about paris supreme and its communicated cancellation.

Paris Paramount would have been the first major project Netflix would have partnered with Meyers on. Previously, Netflix and Meyers worked on the father of the bride part 3 (sort of), launched during the pandemic on Netflix social channels.

We want to emphasize that the title Paris Paramount was a codename/working title used in various places to refer to the project; however, no official title had been given to the film.

The budget for the film was initially reported to be in excess of $100 million, but was eventually increased to $130 million before it was revealed that Meyers was seeking $150 million to produce the film. Of course, the budget of a Netflix movie is not comparable to the budget of a traditional movie. As Joe Russo recently explained for the gray man (which exceeded $200 million), “Netflix is obviously different than other studios, because they have acquisitions that are against budget. And you know, when you say $200 million on Netflix, that’s different than $200 million, say, on Disney.”

Maria Venieu serves as a casting director on the film, with kira goldberg working on the project since the end of Netflix.
