Welcome to your weekly roundup of the biggest stories from Netflix’s top 10 hourly figures for the week ending February 5, 2023.

Every Tuesday, Netflix updates its Top 10 Stats page with 40 new figures per hour for the top movies and shows from the past seven days. If you want to easily browse the top 10 hourly data, visit our tool.

Note: In this report of Netflix hours watched from January 30, 2023 to February 5, 2023, we will use “Full View Equivalent” or CVE, expressed in millions. That means we divide the hours watched advertised by Netflix by the running time of the movies or series. It allows for better comparisons between movies and series, but it is not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the movie or season.

1. ginny and georgia S2 reaches the Top 10 of all time.

Season 2 of ginny and georgia it did what season 1 couldn’t: it peaked at number 10 in the all-time ranking of English-language TV series with 504 million hours watched in its first 28 days. And if you look at the CVE rankings, it currently sits at 21st with 53.8 million CVEs in its first 28 days, right behind Season 2 of Strange things did in 2017.

That’s not a bad place to be, and a renewal order for a third season is coming soon.

2. On my block: Freeridge fail hard

Less than a week after its release, on my block cleave freezer, is already on the chopping block with a disastrous release of 2.3 million CVEs in its first four days. that’s less than the imperfect (quickly cancelled), and sets a new (very) low bar for any new English-language series released on a Thursday.

3. lockwood and company fate is still unclear

For your second week, lockwood and company it made progress, but not as far as hoped to warrant a second season.

After ten days, he is still ahead of stopshearts (renewed) and mean bad (cancelled), but it didn’t progress as much as the other two series in week 2. My prediction now leans slightly towards “cancellation”, but you never know.

4. Viking Worlf roars into its first weekend

The surprise this week was the successful release of the Norwegian film viking wolfan acquisition after its release in Norwegian cinemas.

With 17.2 million CVEs in its first three days, it’s a fantastic release, the fourth for a European film opening on a Friday, in the same vicinity of through my window and blood red sky which both finished in the Top 10 of all-time international films. We’re not quite there yet, but it’s a great start nonetheless.
