Papu Gómez rejoined Sevilla after the injury he suffered in the World Cup

this Monday, Alexander Papuan gomez rejoined the Sevilla squad after overcoming the left ankle injury suffered in the round of 16 against Australia in the World Cup in Qatar.

The midfielder joined the training sessions of the team led by Jorge Sampaoli, after one month and 20 days inactive.

On the day of the injury, the Papu had been the owner due to the absence of Ángel Di María but 5 minutes into the second half he was eliminated by Lisandro Martínez and did not add minutes again in the World Cup in Qatar.

When he returned to Seville as world champion, the club explained that the footballer had suffered a “involvement of the deltoid ligament of the left ankle”.

When Papu Gómez could play an official match again

Seville will play the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey against Osasuna on Wednesdayas a visitor, and there you could go back to the call of one of the three world champions of the Andalusian team together with Marcos Acuña and Gonzalo Montiel.
