RadioProfile | Burnout: What to do in the situation of exhaustion?

Burnout is defined as “physical, emotional or mental exhaustion, accompanied by decreased motivation, poor performance and negative attitudes towards oneself and towards others”.

This situation may be interfering with the quality of your life and may even make you sick.

What to do if you have burnout?

Recognizing that you have burnout is the first step in making a recovery plan.

Take care of your mental health

Seeing a therapist is often a good first step in addressing burnout. Having that safe place to talk to someone who isn’t a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor, but someone who is impartial and trained to give feedback and help you change your life.

Practice mindfulness

The concept of mindfulness revolves around the idea of trying to be as emotionally present as possible. Learn to breathe deeply is a tool that helps.

take breaks

One of the first things a therapist might want to know is what you’re dealing with on a day-to-day basis.

do exercise

It can be just taking a few minutes every day to get some physical exercise.

Establish a daily routine

It’s okay, he worked hard all day. Now I need to stop and attend to the social aspects of my life, things that are just fun and relaxing.

Break things down into achievable goals

That’s a wonderful way to approach things. You can cross those things out during the day.

Build and enforce the boundaries between work and life

We have a hard time maintaining the necessary boundaries, especially since technology plays such a big role in today’s workplace.

Try to have clear and honest communication with your boss. If that were impossible, you will have to find the way by your own means.

explore a hobby

If you don’t feel fulfilled at work, looking for something outside of work, such as starting a hobby, volunteering, or joining a club or organization, can often help.

Avoid burnout in the future

It all comes down to establishing a meaningful daily routine and creating and maintaining boundaries so that you can take care of your health and well-being while also attending to your work and personal life responsibilities.

Once you recognize the symptoms of burnout, you can take a break and recalibrate your actions if you feel like your life is slipping out of sync. “You can say, ‘You know what, I know how bad I felt the last time I dealt with this. I need to do a better job of keeping that balance and tending to my self care and those boundaries. I don’t want to get to the point I got to last time.’”

I hope it works for you, practice and anticipate! Prevention is better than cure, the recovery process can be prolonged.
