The English group arrived at their best moment, as part of the tour of their album The Game, accompanied by an unprecedented technical use for the local public.

In those days, the fate of the country was in the hands of the dictatorship, in charge of General Roberto Viola. The soldier was looking for a certain openness to shows, which would serve to distract from the difficult moment that was going on, without really knowing the message of the band.

Queen’s concerts in the country were announced within the framework of the Carnival celebrations of the Vélez Sarfield Club. On February 28, March 3 and 8, the famous band would perform in Buenos Aires, they would also give a show in Mar del Plata, on March 4 at the “Mundialista” stadium, and on the 6th in Rosario, at the “Gigante de little stream”.

Some photographers and journalists also arrived with the idea of having some kind of contact. A long caravan of fans, plus security people, accompanied them to a downtown hotel.

Freddie, Brian, John and Roger were amazed at the reception. Some international media, such as Rolling Stone magazine, came to the country to portray the event. Queen’s visit was an unusual event for the country and for what the international music market represented. For the first time, an important band agreed to go down to Latin America with all the flow of their music and a strong staging.

Queen’s long-awaited debut in Argentina was on February 28. A packed stadium enjoyed the songs, a review of his career. The first great stadium rock. Each of the musicians, led by Mercury, surrendered to the delirium of the fans who did not stop singing and dancing.
