First it was the UK, then Japan, and several countries are evaluating the strategy. English and Japanese count on the Ministry of Loneliness to combat what the Japanese consider the scourge of the century.

Research reveals that loneliness means a higher risk than obesity for seniors, and that isolation can increase the chances of premature death by 14%.
