Rafael Nadal will not play Roland Garros

There is bad news for the world of tennis after the absence of Rafael Nadal in a new edition of Roland Garros. After failing to recover from his psoas injury, the Spaniard will be a sensitive casualty for the tournament in the French capital.

according to the Spanish medium Reliefthe Mallorcan will not be present at the grand slam on French soil for the first time in his career since his debut in 2004 at the event. The 37-year-old tennis player was recovering from the injury, but times will not allow him to be a part of it.

Nadal arrives at this new edition of Roland Garros with the intention of defending the crown obtained in 2022 and also in pursuit of his 23rd title of grand slam.

The Spaniard has been inactive since January 18 after suffering a psoas tear in his right leg in the second round of the australian open.

In the first instance, his work team speculated about seeing the Spaniard on a pitch after eight weeks, but his recovery has worsened.

Even Nadal’s plan was to reappear in the May window, but without being able to reach 100% physically, he has been absent, so far on the calendar, from the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, the Mutua Madrid Openhe Rome Masters 1000 and now the aforementioned Roland Garros.

Everything would indicate that the objective of the 37-year-old tennis player would aim to reach Wimbledoncontest that will take place from July 3 to 16.
