‘Ricky Gervais: Armageddon’ will stream on Netflix globally in 2024

Ricky Gervais has revealed that his next big stand-up special is coming to Netflix exclusively in 2024, while if you want to see it in person, you can do so throughout 2023.

Noble Ricky Gervais: ArmageddonThis will be the British comedian’s third major stand-up special after Humanity, launched in 2018 and more recently supernature in 2022.

Ricky Gervais: Supernature launched in May 2022 to generally positive reviews, but attracted widespread controversy over pranks on trans issues, which has also landed Netflix comedian Dave Chappelle in hot water.

He special highlight in the top 10 on Netflix TV in at least 28 countries, appearing in the top 10 on Netflix UK for 11 days. The special also won the award for Best Stand Up Show at the National Comedy Awards.

Now, Gervais is back with his next special landing exclusively on Netflix.

Netflix signed a production contract with Gervais in 2019, with the last season of the series recently winning the National Television Awards. after life and supernature coming to Netflix after that deal.

According to Gervais in a live stream in 2020, the streaming giant has signed on to at least two additional projects: Armageddon and a series yet to be announced.

Gervais confirmed Ricky Gervais: Armageddon would land on Netflix globally sometime in 2024 on Twitter saying:

“A lot of people who couldn’t get tickets asked me if #Armageddon will be on Netflix. The answer is yes! I will continue to tour it throughout 2023 and then it will stream on Netflix worldwide in 2024.”

Tickets for the tourwhich takes place across the UK, have been mostly sold out, although there is select availability in places like Manchester, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Although it doesn’t produce as many stand-up specials as before, Netflix still works with some of the best comedians in the world. They are working with Chris Rock (in Netflix’s first live show in its history), Bert Kreischer, Mae Martin, Tom Segura, Hannah Gadsby and Ali Wong, among others, in future specials.
