River won again, remains in the fight and gives Demichelis confidence

The River of Martín Demichelis begins to take shape. He does not dazzle by any means, but he strengthens his present based on victories against valuable and complicated rivals. The other day it was against Argentinos Juniors at the Monumental de Núñez (with a scandalous referee performance), and now against Tigre at the Monumental de Victoria.

This time, the three points came from the head of Leandro González Pires, after another header from Enzo Pérez at the near post. Although the goal was far from being a virtuous play, it did come from a set play: cross to the near post, advance and definition. It was also the way to certify the dominance of the millionaire team, which was based on possession of the ball, and on a Milton Casco who played a leading role due to his climbs from midfield.

Tiger? Strangely, I offered almost nothing. Unlike his first games in this Professional League, where he scored many goals and starred in entertaining round-trip matches, against River he prioritized the mark more than the associated or offensive game. Retegui also had no chances or had much contact with the ball, Blondel could hardly climb up his side and neither Prediger nor Menozzi nor Alexis Castro could dominate the midfield.

Even so, something reinforced. And he had to wait a long time to be in a clear situation against Armani. The most dangerous play he put together was 44 minutes into the second half, when Aaron Molinas overflowed, threw a center back and found a Colidio. It could have been the tie, but a saving slap from Franco Armani prevented it, as he used to do in his best days as custodian of the millionaire arch. Colidio was, without a doubt, the best of the place: by presence, but above all by individual imbalance.

River, which continues to perform to take the three points, as happened against Argentinos and against Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero, this victory helps it to stay near the top of the Professional League, which has Lanús as the leader with an ideal score, and to reinforce some ideas that Demichelis wants to install. Still missing, but winning, everything is easier.
