All eight episodes dropped on July 13, and the show was notably not tagged as a limited series, ending with potential for more to come.

It’s one of several projects Netflix has partnered with industry darling A24 on, with others including Beef, the deepest breath, White noise, and Month.

The series launched to mostly positive review scores, with a 7.6/10 on IMDb and a 86% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

has renewed netflix Survival of the thickest for season 2?

Official renewal status: Not yet renewed
Our renewal prediction: Too early to call

At the time of publication, Survival of the thickest it has yet to be renewed for a season 2 on Netflix.

We will take a look at the viewing statistics of Survival of the thickest in a minute, but we should mention a title before we dive into them. As we’ve covered before, Netflix uses a lot of metrics to decide whether or not to renew a show.

I’d also be remiss not to mention that since May 1, Hollywood writers have been on strike, which will likely play a role in renewal decisions as well.

Month, the first big TV project to come from A24 Television, received a second and final season order from Netflix despite not actually performing well for the streamer. It failed to make the global top 10, but did manage to garner some accolades from various award organizations. BeefNetflix’s multi-Emmy nominated series has yet to receive a second season renewal.

Yeah Survival of the thickest performs well in prizes (such as Month and Beef both did) and the fact that Netflix clearly wants to keep its relationship with A24 Television sweet could play a role here.
