The Argentine Women’s National Team will not wear the three stars on their shirt: the reason

In this 2023 the Argentina Women’s National Team will play the Australia and New Zealand World Cupwith the great objective of qualifying for the first time to the round of 16 of the competition.

The team led by Germán Portanova will select the World Cup after reaching third place in the Copa América in Colombia 2022 and will join Group G along with Sweden, South Africa and Italy.

But this Tuesday, after the presentation of the official ball that was secured in the tournament, a curious detail caught the attention of the fans: the albiceleste shirt will not display the three stars on the shield.

The reason why the women’s Argentine National Team will not wear the three stars that the men’s team won on their jersey is because according to FIFA, each modality has its titles and are not shared by the federation.

That is to say, the three world titles were obtained by the men’s team, so they will be the ones who will be able to wear the stars on the shield. The same happens with the Futsal Team: the men wear a star for the world title obtained in Colombia in 2016.
