The first whales of the 2023 season have already arrived in Puerto Madryn

As usual at this time of the year, The first whales have already begun to reach the shores of Puerto Madrynin the province of chubutmuch to the delight of the locals and the miles from tourists to visit the place to witness this beautiful spectacle, the only one of its kind in the world.

On this occasion, the arrival of the first specimens of these friendly marine animals coincides with the launch of the traditional Whale Week”, which is organized by the MMinistry of Tourism and Protected Areas of chubuttogether with the municipalities of the region Valdés Peninsula and that will take place until Thursday, June 22.

During the seven months that will remain in Puerto Madryn and surrounding areas, Whales take advantage of the calm waters of the Nuevo and San José gulfs to reproducegive birth and accompany their calves on their first forays into the bottom of the sea.

“As every year, at this time those of us who live in Puerto Madryn begin to look out over the gulf on our walks to look for the first whales”, he commented, in a press conference, Mariela Blanco, Secretary of Tourism of Puerto Madryn.

“Those who have the best opportunity to see them are the municipal park rangers of the protection area “El Doradillo” which is located about 15 kilometers from the city center. They look at the gulf every day and there they have the first opportunity to see them and communicate to everyone that they have had that first experience,” added the Chubutan official.
