One of the most anticipated animated movies of 2023 is undoubtedly the Illumination adaptation of Nintendo’s long-running video game series. Having debuted in theaters on April 5 and Peacock is now scheduled for release in the United States, here’s when you can expect the movie to hit Netflix and if it’s coming to other countries.

Among the voice cast for the new film are Chris Pratt playing the titular Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach. Rounding out the cast are Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan Michael Key, Seth Rogen and Fred Armisen.

When The Super Mario Bros. movie be on Netflix US?
Let’s start with the United States, where we know the movie will air in late 2023.
The movie is coming to Netflix as part of a deal with Universal hit in July 2021, when the studio’s animated movies were set to hit the service as part of pay window 1. After its theatrical run, the film will head to Peacock for four months, Netflix for ten months, and then Peacock. for four more months.
So when is the movie coming to Netflix and Peacock?
The top movie we have for comparison to know when it’s coming to Netflix is Minions: The Rise of Gru.

So let’s apply this timeline to The Super Mario Bros. movie.
Now it is confirmed that the film is arriving at Peacock on August 3, 2023. That means the movie will be on Netflix in the United States on December 3, 2023, as long as the current schedule sticks.
Neither Netflix nor Universal have confirmed the Netflix release date as of the time of the update.

Other regions set to receive Illumination films within the first window include countries like Australia, Belgium and South Korea. In those cases, we expect them to receive the film by the end of 2023.
Netflix UK tends to receive lighting films around two years after its initial theatrical release for a period of 6 months. If so, it’s coming to Netflix there in 2025.
