The US surveyors’ union suspends the strike to continue contract negotiations

More news – Latest news

The US Appraisers Union, which represents about 45,000 workers at the country’s major ports, has temporarily called off the planned strike. This decision comes as both parties are engaged in renewed negotiations aimed at reaching a new contractual agreement.

The suspension of the strike prevents a potential disruption to the movement of goods at major US ports, which could have had significant economic consequences. Both parties remain committed to the negotiating table, with the aim of reaching a mutually beneficial agreement.

Negotiations focus on various issues important to appraisers, including wages, benefits, job security and working conditions. The potential strike had raised concerns in the shipping industry and the wider economy over potential disruptions to supply chains and trade.

The surveyors’ union had threatened to strike if a new contractual agreement was not reached by a certain deadline. The potential strike had attracted much attention due to its potential impact on the US economy.

While the suspension of the strike provides temporary relief, the outcome of the negotiations remains uncertain. Both sides will have to work diligently to find common ground and avoid a future work stoppage.

The ongoing negotiations between the U.S. Appraisers Union and employers will continue to be watched closely as they work toward a solution that benefits both parties and the broader economy.
