Vidal will not be a candidate for president: “Individual projects cannot be above the group”

The deputy and former governor of the province of Buenos Aires Mary Eugenia Vidal contribution this Thursday May 4 that will not be a candidate for president of the nation as it had come to speculate in recent months, although it will not be guaranteed if he will apply for another charge.

Although the head of the PRO, Federico Angelini, had given the news shortly before in a radio interview, it was Vidal herself who in the afternoon hours of the constitution: “I decided that this time I am not going to be a candidate for President of the Nation”he said in a post he shared on his social media.

“I have been traveling the country for a year and a half and, although I am proud of the potential that our Argentina has and the drive of its people, I cannot ignore the anguish, fear and sadness that each province transmits to me”, begins the written.

The former Buenos Aires governor also said that she is “convinced that it is essential that Argentines trust that Together for Change is the way out.” And she added, in this sense, that it is “the only political space with the necessary equipment and experience to move the country forward.”

At that point, he deepened in the definition of his candidacy: “I know that the multiple candidacies only generate division and uncertainty. Individual projects cannot be above the whole. “Don’t fight”, “Stay united”, they told me on each tour. For this reason, because I listened to them and because I understand them, I decided that this time I am not going to be a candidate for President of the Nation”.

Vidal assured that he made the decision by listening to the people on the tours. “This, like every decision in my political career, was made on the street, not behind a desk.”

Finally, the legislator clarified: “I will continue working to defend our unity, strengthening our proposals and bringing hope to every corner of the country that a better Argentina is possible. No fights, no chicanas, no meanness. Tomorrow I find myself in the same place as 20 years ago: working for and to recover Argentina”.

María Eugenia Vidal did not clarify if she will run for another position.

The interim president of the force revealed that the intention not to compete for the Presidency responds to a personal decision of the former governor and specified that it will be part of the electoral process.

However, Angelini ruled out the possibility of running to compete for the City of Buenos Aires and assured that the space candidate is Jorge Macri.

“María Eugenia is a great leader, with an enormous future, where she believes she can contribute her bit, but today our candidate is Jorge Macri, even she has said so,” said Patricia Bullrich’s successor in dialogue with The 990.

His statements are in line with what was stated by the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, who also said this Thursday that the PRO has only two candidates to succeed him in office: Jorge Macri and Fernán Quirós.
