Time to look ahead to what is going to be a busy week of new Netflix Originals and licensed content headed to Netflix. Below, we’ll walk you through the 47 launches currently scheduled for the service and pick out our top three highlights.
This week is a lot busier than usual due to the stacked Netflix Original lineup for the week, plus we’ll also be crossing into a new month, which means a lot of removals and additions for licensed movies in particular. For those who follow this adaptation of ND Stevenson’s comic, it has often been a painful journey, but after a very long wait, it was time to check it out. Nimona in all its glory.
Having already premiered at the Annecy film festival, a handful of reviews are floating around, and they’re pretty positive. In fact, at the time of publication, the film has a RottenTomatoes rating of 100%.
Lauren LaMagma by next best movie perhaps he summed up the general feedback more aptly by saying:
“Directors Nick Bruno and Troy Quane have delivered a funny, gritty, heartfelt and raw rebellious animated punk-rock magic that will stand the test of time and become an instant home classic for many.”

Despite a growing cloud over The Witcher on Netflix, it remains one of Netflix’s most-watched titles and season 3, split into two parts, will premiere later this week.
Netflix has teased that the new season, which will be the last of Henry Cavill, will see chaos brewing.

Of the many licensed movies hitting Netflix this week (mostly on Saturday, July 1), the one we think is most notable is Paramount Pictures’ Annihilation. The film has already resided on Netflix in all regions as a Netflix Original for the past five years, but now it’s finally being added to Netflix US.
Alex Garland’s sci-fi film, Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, is about a group of female investigators who head to Area X to find out what happened to Lena’s husband.
The film stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.
