As we enter another month, there’s a lot to look forward to, with over 150 new titles scheduled to arrive throughout the month. Next, we’ll take a look at what’s happening in the first full week of May 2023, with highlights including the new Bridgerton spin-off and hit Sony movie starring Tom Hanks.

As an additional quick note, we may be getting multiple seasons of the hit CBS show. SMASH for the next seven days, but we don’t have any official clarification yet as Netflix has yet to respond to a request for comment.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

After a long wait, we finally return to the world of Bridgerton with the new spin-off focused on Queen Charlotte.

According to Netflix, here is the official synopsis of the new series that will consist of 6 episodes:

“Focusing on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this prequel to Bridgerton’s verse tells the story of how the young queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love affair and social change, creating the world of Ton inherited by the Bridgerton characters.

A man named Otto (2023)

This American remake of the 2015 Swedish film, which grossed over $100 million at the box office, casts Tom Hanks as Otto Anderson, a 63-year-old widower living in suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

So we’ve highlighted a movie and series coming to Netflix this week, but now let’s cover a new game scheduled for release on Android and iOS devices.

Developed by Snowman (the same team behind Netflix’s excellent game Lucky Luna), the new game will have you jumping off mountains, crossing forests, and sliding over rivers to unlock new abilities as you explore a vast and peaceful world.
