Grey’s Anatomy – Picture: ABC/Disney
Shonda Rhimes medical drama Grey’s Anatomy continues to break records for ABC and is one of the last shows from the network to come regularly to Netflix in the United States. Season 19 began streaming on ABC in October 2022 and is confirmed to hit Netflix this summer. This is what we know.
Reaching 400 episodes, Grey’s Anatomy is a behemoth of a series that began its run in 2005. If you were born in the year this show started airing, you would be old enough to drive in the United States by now.
in this season of Grey’s Anatomy, we’ll see Kate Walsh return, and Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, Midori Francis, Adelaide Kane, and Harry Shum Jr. will appear as season regulars.

Despite Disney aggressively regaining the rights to other shows, Grey’s Anatomy It continues to get yearly season dumps on Netflix US. While we don’t know exactly why Netflix is still allowed to license Grey’s (the Shonda Rhimes connection may have something to do with it), we see new seasons shortly after they finish airing.
Let’s quickly run through when the last few seasons hit Netflix:
So without fail, in recent years, Netflix has received new seasons between May and July. We predicted that would be the case again for season 19 of Grey’s Anatomywhich means that it will probably appear on Netflix in its entirety between May and July of 2023.
And now we have confirmation that Season 19 will be part of the June 2023 lineup, with all episodes scheduled to land on June 17, 2023.
Netflix Canada is the only other country that streams Grey’s Anatomy. At press time, they haven’t received season 18 yet, which is expected sometime in 2023, which means season 19 won’t arrive until 2024.
Some other Netflix regions used to carry Grey’s Anatomy but not anymore. That’s because the international rights to the show weren’t renewed and reverted to streaming on Disney+.
Yes, Hulu continues to be the “next day” provider for Grey’s Anatomythough new episodes don’t air there forever.
We’ve covered this a few times in the past, but yes, eventually, Grey’s Anatomy It will leave Netflix, but the deadlines are sketchy and not set in stone.
If the show concludes with season 19 (seems unlikely), then we expect the show to leave Netflix after 2 years (at least 2025). But Disney could figure out a way to get the license back on its title (like it did with the Marvel Defenders series), then we could see it go much sooner.
