‘Shtisel’ to be removed from Netflix globally in March 2023

The March 2023 removals have been announced and among the series leaving Netflix in various regions will be the three seasons of the Israeli series, Shtisel.

The Hebrew-language series, which first aired in mid-2013 on Yes Oh, is about a Haredi family living in an ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem neighborhood dealing with love, loss, and the stagnation of daily life.

The show stars Dov Glickman, Michael Aloni, Neta Riskin, Shira Haas, and Sasson Gabai.

Even though it aired in 2013, Netflix only got involved with the show starting with season 2.

fast tv news first reported in December 2018 that Netflix had acquired the streaming rights to Shtisel de Dori and stated that the deal was for the first “two seasons”.

The show came to Netflix in most regions as a full Netflix Original title with branding that was maintained through the release of all three seasons.

Seasons 1 and 2 arrived on Netflix globally on December 15, 2018, and then the third season was added on March 25, 2021.

When is Shtisel leaving Netflix?

Netflix in their monthly roundup included for the first time the fact that Shtisel would be leaving Netflix with a planned deletion date of March 25, 2023.

The day after that list was posted, the show’s page began displaying a “Last Day to Watch” notice for March 24.

That means the show will expire exactly two years after season 3 launches.

If you were hoping for a fourth season of Shtisel, the news of its removal from Netflix is probably the final nail in the coffin.

That is after Yes Studios bossDanna Stern told Deadline that the show is highly unlikely to return.

“I don’t want to break anyone’s heart, but I think that story has already been told,” Stern said. “And don’t forget that this cast has been together for a long time. Almost a decade. I think we got as many stories as we could without getting too dramatic. I feel like we’ve pushed it to the limit, but, you know, we did good.”
